A MESSAGE FROM THE NACE BOSTON CHAPTER PRESIDENT
Kristin Atwood, CPCE
Hi NACE Boston Members,
This is a challenging time for everyone and we understand at times it can feel lonely. We all have different situations we are going through, but no matter what NACE is here as a source of support for its members. While it is heartbreaking not to be together yet, your NACE Boston board is continuously thinking of creative ways to provide education and entertainment to help us improve our businesses and get through this.
Below are updates on what we’ve been working on from the chapter as well as the national level to assist members and the event industry as a whole. If you are not aware, NACE National has been hosting webinars free of charge. Most now are focusing on what events will look like in the different phases of re-opening. If you are interested in listening to these, you can access through the national website and the resource library https://www.nace.net/connect/resource-library/
On the local level, we are preparing letters that will go to our legislators, Congressman Steven Lynch, Congress Woman Ayana Pressley, Lieutenant Governor Polito asking for an update and specific details and actions that will be taken to allow our industry to conduct business again in a safe way. Our industry desperately wants to go back to work and private events have been significantly underrepresented. We want to change that and ensure our collective voice is heard so our businesses can once again thrive and succeed.
NACE Boston has also hosted webinars with national speakers and we plan to continue to host monthly events for our community free of charge until we can gather as a group again. Please check @naceboston social media in the coming days for more information on these events.
Our NACE community is strongest when we come together. By listening and gathering information, we all can adapt and be better prepared for when events come back – and they will come back. As humans, we need social interaction and joyful celebrations to thrive.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a board member. We are here to listen and support you now and always.
