A MESSAGE FROM THE NACE BOSTON CHAPTER PRESIDENT
Happy New Year NACE Boston,
As I enter into my NACE Boston presidency and another year of uncertainty for our event industry, I am tempted to bad mouth this past year for a multitude of reasons. But as I look back on what 2020 has forced us all to endure, I can only see how much hope and strength it has brought out within us.
Under the leadership of Kristin, our chapter has brought in virtual speakers, held trivia nights, performed food demonstrations, shared holiday traditions, addressed NACE and Race, held an election and YES, we even hosted a LIVE socially distanced event in the Summer. We proved that even in the worst circumstances, we could come together and continue to educate, support and invigorate our community.
So instead of ushering out 2020, I want to thank everyone in our chapter, industry and lives for helping us create meaningful connections, despite this year’s obstacles.
We can’t wait to introduce a calendar year full of memorable and transformative virtual AND live events. We also hope to bring to the forefront, a larger sense of diversity, equality and inclusivity within our events and our membership. The art of gathering will never be taken granted for again, after the pandemic, so I look forward to a prosperous new year for all of us.
Please remember that your board and I are always here to support you, so do not hesitate to reach out.
“Maybe there’s a way to keep us in this moment. Not the sad part. But the coming together part.” - David Levithan
